Do you ever feel like your life is the only one that isn't perfect? Like your friends & families & facebook "friends" lives are all perfect, but yours is just a mess?

I feel like this a lot lately.
-My house is never spotless. Heck I can't remember the last time I swept the floors or dusted.
-We've been in the house for almost a year 1/2 and I still don't have contact paper in the cabinets, the whole house (minus M's room) is still painted yellow, and most walls are still bare.
-I don't cook dinner ever every night.
-We've missed church more than we should have this month.
-The last time we took a family picture was probably Christmas and none are framed.
-I do not get great joy from clipping coupons.
-We don't have set family vacations (ie: most people's week long summer beach trip, annually).
-I can't remember when Madi got what teeth, or how old she was when she first said "mama" or "dada." (don't freak moms, I'm sure it's written down in her baby book...well not the teeth thing. That, I have no clue about.)
I just wish I was someone that I'm not - you know, Susie Homemaker who cooks dinner every night while wearing high heels and a smile. Well, I don't wear high heels ever and if I can manage to get my foot into them then I assure I will not be smiling.
How does everyone else do it? I want my life to be picture perfect too. Don't get me wrong - I love the people IN my life but I'm envious of everyone else's perfection.

I like you just the way you are! But I know what you mean. So many friends of mine are so happy in their relationships etc. Post photos of gifts or nice things their significant other on Facebook...just to make me throw up. Or want to. They're all happy and I'm going through a break-up. I understand how you feel to an extent but nobody is perfect. I bet you most of these people are hiding something dark and deep and have to make up for it by trying extra hard to show everything is perfect, when it just might not be.
Be yourself because everyone else is already taken. Embrace it! There's always room for improvement in life but there is such such thing as perfect.
Chin up! Thinking of you xoxo
We have ALL felt this way before!! I think the biggest problem is looking at other people's life and judging are own. You don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Maybe they are looking at you and thinking that YOUR life is perfect!!
PS: I never cook. Don't feel bad.
The people who you see keeping up with their 'perfect' lives are simply masking their imperfections in life more seamlessly than other. We've all been there, I'm there too in some aspects of my life as well. Once I decided to focus on contentment and not keeping up with the stepfords it made everything seem a little more perfect in my life. :)
Oh honey! Life is NEVER picture perfect! Between those perfect pictures are tears and messy houses and frustration!! Don't be too hard on yourself! :)
This sounds like my life! I am pretty sure most people's lives are that way, they just don't admit to it. So no worries ..if you are happy that is what matters! And I HATE heels too...horrible invention
I feel like I was reading about myself when I read this post! I think that your other comments are exactly right. People like to put on a show a lot. They don't post pictures of when their house is a mess. They don't post pictures of when the baby was up all night screaming. They don't post pictures of the fight they had with their husband. Nobody's life is perfect. Some days are better than others. & it's OK to strive for better, but don't put yourself down!! Love reading your blog!

I feel exactly the same way! I don't know how some mom's do it all. I feel like I never have enough time in the day to all that I want to... but hey - you only live once. Just do what you enjoy and don't worry about everyone else. :)
Don't be hard on yourself girl. I think you're a great mama to Madi. Who cares if you can't remember, she won't know the difference. Plus, I think people make their lives look glamorous to make themselves feel better.. so just remember that :)
definitely don't be too hard on yourself. i don't think life is ever perfect. but i think, especially on blogs, people can pick and choose what they want to show, so do you really ever see teh super bad stuff??
Just stumbled across your blog - great job!
Don't be so hard on yourself about the perfect thing. In my 40+ years of life, I've come to realize that NOBODY has EVERYTHING all figured out; not even the ones who appear "put together." I've learned not to rate the way I'm living according to a worldly scale, but according to God's. I would start from the inside out, taking it all to Him in prayer - and let Him take it from there. Take care and be blessed :)

No one has a perfect life. You have to love the life you are living.
:D You sound like me! I can't remember the last time I swept or dusted either, but ya know what, if your busy living life, it's kind of hard to chase the dust bunnies at the same time :D
Enjoy the moments and worry less about recording them!
La paix!
