This post is long overdue. How to behave while waiting on an elevator, in an elevator, and exiting. Brought to you by yours truly.
· If you arrive at the elevator after me, do not cut in front of me to get on the elevator. This is rude and gets under my skin. Stop it.
· Once in the elevator, we can make conversation or not, either is fine with me but please don’t have conversations with yourself or that little thing in your ear. Weird.
· If you want to know what floor I’m going to, that’s nice of you but don’t bark at me. A nice voice is much more acceptable.
· Now my biggest no, no ร when exiting the elevator if you are in the BACK or BEHIND someone, wait until they get off to exit!! Even if it’s just 2 people, if you’re in the back then wait for the other person to exit. You aren’t saving any time!!!
· Also, if you smoke. Take the stairs. The rest of us don’t want to stand in a smoke-filled sauna. K, thanks. (okay maybe that’s harsh. My apologies. But really.)
Am I alone in this? Does this drive anyone else bananas?! Please tell me I’m not alone.

Haha! Sooooo true. A persons true manners definitely come out on an elevator!
So true ... and I would add:
If you get to the elevator as its more then half closing DO NOT throw your hand in to open it for yourself ... wait for the next elevator ... some of us have places to go like NOW!!!! :-)
Also..if you are trying to get on the elevator, wait until people that need to get off has done so. I hate when people rush on when people are trying to get off :)
Pushing the UP or DOWN button 100 times does NOT make the elevator arrive any faster!!!
Aggh!!! The bluetooth drives me bananas! I start off thinking the person is insane and then quickly realize they are just rude - like celphone talkers. "I'm in an eleavotor, I can't hear you. Hello? Hello?" Just hang up already!
I'm just glad that I don't have to take elevators often. We just took one Friday during furniture market. There were 12 of us. I loved how people would still push their way in with all of us. Hello....weight limit!
Yes, I definitely agree. I hate when people stand really close, even when you are the only two people! Eek!
You are definitely not alone! I think you hit the nail on the head with all of these!
I love these! I think they should be printed out and hung in elevators nationwide!!
My husband and I spend a weekend at a casino in Biluxi, Mississippi recently and people would walk in the elevator that we were already in SMOKING a cigarette while I was in there holding my baby. Grrrr.
Umm, I LOVE this post! I live in a high rise building in Chicago and take the elevator every single day. Oy! Some people are so rude!
