About a month ago I bought myself a Clarisonic Mia. I heard about it on Twitter and then started hearing about it everywhere. I have terrible skin and definitely wanted to see what it was all about. I read the reviews online, watched videos on YouTube and decided it was something I wanted to invest in.
The Clarisonic Mia is the cheaper version of the Clarisonic. The Clarisonic comes with more speeds and a brush you can use on your body as well as your face. At first I thought that was the one I wanted, but after reading the reviews and talking to the sales woman, I decided on the Mia. The Mia has one speed and can only be used on your face (although, if you buy an extra brush I don’t see why you couldn’t use it on your body). The Mia isn’t any smaller (that was something I was concerned about) than the original Clarisonic. They even come in pretty colors! I got a purple one. :)
I used my Mia every other day when I first got it. This is recommended since you’re introducing something new to your skin. The first two weeks I broke out like crazy!!! Not going to lie – I was irritated. This is normal though. It was bringing out all the grime and dirt in my skin that normal face washing wasn’t getting rid of. After the initial 2 weeks, my face is noticeably smoother, my pores are smaller, and my breakouts are less and less.
The only con I would say is that the Mia is rather expensive ($125) and so is the face wash that goes with it. Otherwise, I highly recommend it and am happy I bought it!
(I will say though that a few weeks after I bought it, a blogger posted about the Neutrogena Micro Dermabrasion Kit that is only $20 and I instantly wished I had tried that first. She says it works great, but I haven’t tried it so I do not know how the two compare.)
Anyway – I was going to show y’all a picture of my face before and after using the Mia but that was just scary so here is a pic of the brush before and after use. I had washed my face as I normally do before using it and it still got off so much make-up and dirt!
Do you have a Clarisonic? Do you love it?
*These are my own opinions. Clarisonic has no clue I'm writing this. But, if Clarisonic peeps are reading this - I'll take some free products. :)
