A Confession

I have a confession to make.

I text and drive.

I Facebook and drive.

I check my email and drive.

I tweet and drive.

I know it's dangerous. I know it's stupid. I just get "bored" driving. I always said I'd never be able to stop doing it...until I saw this:

I am making the vow now to stop texting and driving including face booking, tweeting, and emailing. It's not worth it. I don't want to kill someone else, my family, or myself. I am ashamed that it has taken me this long to realize how stupid it is.

I hope you will vow to stop too.

I saw that commercial for the first time a couple days ago, and it made me think of a blog post I saw somewhere. This particular bloggers brother was in an accident from texting and driving... I couldn't help but wonder if it is the same guy...

Great blog, Brittan. We can only hope that this touches and moves more people in the way that is has you. Incredible how dangerous 26 letters can be. Thanks for sharing!

I do the same, although I limit it to when I'm stopped at a traffic light. I have temptation to do it other times, but I try to fight it. But you're right - I really need to stop period.

I am the worst when it comes to texting and driving, I ran a stoplight a couple of weeks ago - luckily it was early in the morning and nobody was coming but when I stopped to think about what COULD have happened it made me put my phone down. so scary.

I used to do it too until I started working at an insurance office. Sooo many of the accidents we deal with our due to messing with your phone while driving. And unfortunately, we've dealt with deaths as well. I once saw a photo of what happen to a young man after he was sending a simple text to a friend, in the middle of a bright sunny day, on a 2 lane road. He crashed head on into a 18 wheeler and was severed in half! Definitely not worth it. I purposely put my cell in my purse and put my purse in the back seat out of my reach so that I have no temptation to answer a text or even an incoming call. I've seen too many accidents first hand and I'm so glad that you have now realized how dangerous it can truly be and that it's just not worth it!

I couldn't do anything and drive if I tried. I have been known to text at a stop light, but that's about it. I'm glad you're vowing to quit the habit!

I am very guilty of this too. I can't tell you how many times I've came so close to rear ending or side swiping someone. :-/ I hate to admit that, but it's true. You've made me rethink my decision to text/tweet/email and drive. From now on, I am going to put the phone down!
