The Little Things

I've been working a lot of hours lately, hence my lack of blog posts and commenting on other blogs (sorry!). The thing is though, being away truly makes me appreciate the time that I do have with my family.

The other night I was playing with Madi and showed her the snow globes we have. She saw them last year but this year she is actually old enough to appreciate them. The look on her face when she saw the "snow" falling was absolutely priceless. It was the most amazing thing she'd ever seen! I must have turned the globe upside down at least 50 times. I would do it another 50 to keep seeing her face light up.

A child's innocence is something to be treasured. That moment with my girl, watching the snow fall in a snow globe, was more than I could have asked for. Jesus blessed me with my amazing daughter and I love having moments like that!!

We had another fun moment tonight. I picked her up after I got off work. It was late - 7:30. I knew we needed to get home and get ready for bed, but we were both hungry. Instead of grabbing some food and taking it home to eat while rushing around cleaning up, I thought it would be fun to have a "picnic" in the car.

She loved this idea, so I got us some food and she sat in the front passenger's seat with me. We ate dinner and listened to the radio and took pictures together. It was really special and she loved the idea. She thought it was so much fun. I'm so glad that I got to spend some quality time with my girl even though I worked all day and didn't get to see her near as long as I'd liked.

I guess the moral of my stories are to take some time out of your day to look at the little things. They are really special. :)

Such a sweet post. I'm sure Madi will remember those things as she gets older. Life gets busy but you are right it is important to remember the small stuff.

You are so right. It really is those small moments you don't expect that end up being the most memorable :) Hope y'all enjoy the holidays!
