Week(end) Recap

Thank you to everyone who gave me the high heel tips! Unfortunately (or fortunately?!) I didn't have to use them. We didn't end up going to the Christmas party. I know, I shouldn't be so anti-social, but when I'm working 54 hours a week I don't really feel like dressing up and going out in the middle of the work week. Maybe next year!

Thursday night we got together with our friend's Jessica & Gordie and their 1 yr old Baker. They just moved back here from Utah so it was great to get to see them! We enjoyed a good Mexican meal out and then came back to our house. Baker and Madi had fun fighting for toys playing and I think Madi liked having a younger person around!

Friday afternoon I decided at the last minute to take Madi to the dr. She has had a runny nose and a bad cough for about a week and I didn't take her because it's usually just allergies. But then she started running a fever and with the weekend coming up I didn't want to take any chances. I am so glad I took her! Turns out she has Strep. :( My poor baby. When I picked her up Friday afternoon she had a low-grade fever but by the time we got to the dr (5 minutes away) she was burning up. The dr gave me Motrin for her right away and luckily it went down quickly. Let me tell you though, this diagnosis did not come easy.

This was the aftermath from the dr trying to check Madi's ears. That's all she was trying to do! It took the dr and me holding her down with all our strength to get a good look in her ears. The dr actually said she thinks Madi is the strongest 2 year old she's ever met! But the dr did say "at least she is talking well!" because she kept screaming "LET ME GET DOWN!" I think this is becoming a tradition at the dr and I really am going to make her daddy go next time!

So she has been on an antibiotic since Friday night and had a fever this afternoon but I can tell she is getting better. I let her go outside for a few minutes today to ride her tricycle. She loves to be outside so even just a few minutes out there made her very happy!

She is going to stay at her Pop's tomorrow, and hopefully she will be all better in no time!

I hope y'all had a great weekend and I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! :) How excited are y'all?? Only 6 more days!!!

poor Madi! I'll be praying for her (and you as you take care of a sick little girl).

Awww, poor sweet baby. I hope she feels better soon. Especially with Santa coming to visit her in a few days!
