MUSC Visit

Happy Tuesday everyone! :)

If you are new here, first of all - welcome! I love new followers, please say hi! :)  Second, you may want to read this before reading below.

Justin's referral to MUSC has finally gone through. Justin and I are going to be at MUSC this Thursday for a 5-7 day stay. He is going there to have a continuous video EEG. They will be taking him off his medications and sleep depriving him to try and invoke seizures. My role in this is to be with him at all times so I can note when he is having seizures and let the nurses know. Neither of us are looking forward to this, but the outcome will hopefully be that he can have brain surgery to reduce the risk of seizures and eventually start feeling better again.

Of course I am absolutely heart broken that I am going to have to be away from Madi for a whole week. I almost cry every time I think about it. She will be staying with my mother-in-law so I know that she will be just fine and have a great time. She gets to play with her cousins over there and she is comfortable there so it's an ideal place for her to be. I'm just trying not to think about all the things I will miss while we are away. Thankfully there is awesome technology these days and we will definitely be Skype-ing with her as much as possible!

One super big plus out of this is that I finally get to see hubs in PAJAMAS! No seriously! I've always asked him to wear pajamas and he laughs in my face. Wellll now he has to because he has to wear button up shirts during the whole stay.

Here are some I've picked out for him:

Yes those are sock monkeys.

Can you say rodeo?

Okay, TOTALLY KIDDING. Who would wear those?!

I'm thinking more along the lines of these:

Am I alone in this? Do y'all like to see your hubby's in cute pjs? Will they wear them?

I'm sure I will be posting way too many posts next week when I'm sitting around in the hospital room with hubs. He will probably be watching gory movies all day every day!

In all seriousness though, please keep us in your prayers during this visit. He will most likely be having many seizures (last time he only skipped one dose of medication and had a grand mal the same day) and although this will help the doctors assess where his seizure activity is coming from, it will be very difficult on Justin. Thank you all so much. <3

Wow. Definitely sending lots of love, prayers, and hugs your way!

My hubs will wear pj pants around the house, but not "real" pajamas.

I can't imagine! I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. You guys will be in my prayers all week long, and I hope they will get things worked out so he can have the surgery. P.S. I vote for the sock monkeys! ;)

Good luck at MUSC-who is the doctor Justin is going to be seeing? Jason has been to a few of the MUSC neurologists-and for the most part, they have all been amazing.

As far as the PJs go-My vote is def for the sock monkeys! My Hubs will only wear PJ pants IF we are staying at someone elses house...and I make sure to purchase "seasonably appropriate" PJ pants...during the Holidays they were candycane...and awesome!
Good luck-will be thinking & praying for you guys!
