I am happy to say that we did get a dog yesterday! We got him from a wonderful pet rescue in SC, Pets Inc. His name is Teddy and he is a 9 year old Shih Tzu. We love him to pieces and he was SO good last night! Madi is already smitten with him. She even read him a bedtime story last night. :)
Isn’t he adorable? I call him Grandpa Teddy. ;)

my SIL has a shih-tzu ... they're mellow and I think some of the best dogs to be around small kids. Good for you for doing what is right for your family ... and I'm glad that you rescued that old man that most people probably didn't want ...
