My butt hurts.

This is going to be a super brief post because I am worn out. I've been sitting on the couch for so long that my butt hurts. Like bad. In my defense - I've been working. I wasn't just eating and watching TV. (I was doing that too…but add working in there and that sounds so much more acceptable.)

Anywho, I'm going to join in on the Friday 5 because that just looks like fun. Now maybe I'm blind but I can't find the code for the link-up button so here's the link and below is the pretty little picture.

1. Saturday we are celebrating Madi's 5th birthday! Her party is going to be at a local park. The theme is butterflies/nature so we will be doing a scavenger hunt and of course playing on the playground. Her actual birthday isn't until the end of the month but November seems to be THE month for birthdays so I had to claim the date early!

2. Paul and Addison are coming tomorrow!!! Madi and I are so excited! It's only been two weeks since I've seen them but it feels like forever. We don't have any plans except for Madi's party so I'm thinking the girls will get in a lot of play time and Paul and I will get in a lot of relaxing. Here's to hoping!

3. Crap, I didn't think this through. I had two topics ready to go but I suppose I need 5. Tomorrow is Friday. That deserves a # all it's own. Longest week ever.

4. I do not feel like making 48 cupcakes tomorrow. I wish I was rich. $30 for cupcakes wouldn't seem like a lot if I was rich. Instead, I must spend my "relaxing" Friday night making $9 cupcakes.

5. I'm hungry. Not just right now. All the time. Like constantly. I drink lots of water these days so scratch that comment you were about to write. I am going to be the size of a whale by the end of the week if something doesn't change.

5 on Friday, the 13th.

Five things in my head at the moment.

1. My good friend Jill sent me this lovely item for my birthday. It's monogrammed. And pink and purple. All things - heaven. I received it yesterday and cannot wait to wear it this weekend! Apparently I make a stupid face when I'm excited.

2. I had to write myself some notes for the weekend. I honestly have not been home alone for a weekend in about six months. 97% of the time I'm traveling, or I have company. I'm still traveling this weekend but only Saturday for a few hours.

Yes, the note to myself to NOT go to Target is necessary. If I go back this week, I may as well just sign my paycheck over to them.

3. Army Wives Season 7 is now on Netflix!!!! That is how I plan to spend tomorrow evening & Saturday morning. I'm not a fan of Joan at all this season. I love Denise, miss Roxy & Pamela, and am just bummed about Claudia Joy. I do like Gloria and the new quirky chick. I can't remember her name. She's hilarious though. I want her glasses. And if you don't watch Army Wives - start. It's wonderful.

4. Today is Friday the 13th, in case you haven't written the date yet today. (That's the only time I have a clue about the date.) Do you usually have a bad Friday the 13th? Mine have actually always been average or pretty good. Hopefully this one won't change that!

5. I have been absolutely starving lately. And I've gained the weight to prove it. I don't know if I'm pmsing or if I'm suddenly 15 again, going through a growth spurt or what but it needs to stop! My stomach is screaming at me and it's 11:30 at night. Here's to trying to ignore it.

Speaking of food. Who wants to go to Buffalo Wild Wings tomorrow night? I'm dying to have more of their salt & vinegar seasoned fries. Oops, now I've made you hungry.

I just realized I could just name this post "if you follow me on instagram" because 99% of this is on there.

Birthday Weekend - 29!

My birthday weekend was pretty amazing. For real. I spent it with my favorite adult (I have a favorite kid and a favorite adult). We will call this person A because, well, I just watched some PLL and that's what's on my mind.

Anywho, A had many surprises planned for me this past weekend. Friday night A gave me my birthday present. I LOVE it and will actually do a separate post on it soon. I got a super shiny & pretty SodaStream!!

A cooked me a fabulous dinner of salad, chicken alfredo, & garlic knots. Do y'all know what garlic knots are?? It was the first time I'd ever even heard of them but they were really good!

Saturday was the day of surprises. That morning A surprised me with a jet ski rental! It was a BEAUTIFUL day on Lake Murray. We had the jet ski for two hours which was the perfect amount of time. We had so so so much fun! Can't really describe it with another word. It was just lots of FUN! I wasn't going to drive it but A convinced me to try driving and let me tell you, I liked having that power! I didn't want to go back to just riding! I'm definitely going to have to get a jet ski one day. I've lived 10 minutes from the lake all my life. It's ridiculous that I don't have one, really. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of this. I didn't take my phone for obvious reasons!

After fun on the lake I treated myself to a much needed pedicure. There is just something about having someone else massage and clean your feet that is so soothing. Am I right? If you've never had a pedicure, this makes me sad. Go get one. I got my toenails painted a color I saw on Pinterest recently and I LOVE it.

That evening A took me to one of my favorite restaurants, Copper River Grille in Irmo. To my surprise, my best friend & her family along with my cousin Morgan joined us! They all live in Greenville so I wasn't expecting to see them on my birthday. I was very excited and loved that A coordinated it so they could be a part of my birthday! We had a great time at dinner! Seeing Carrie's sweet baby was a huge plus too! I just love me some Weston!!

Love his cheeks!!!

Ignore my wrinkled dress. I promise it was ironed!

Morgan gave me this shirt & the earrings! Standard southern girl requirements!

Sunday morning A & I watched church online (I heart my church! - NewSpring) and A made me a DELICIOUS breakfast of grits & bacon. Those grits were to.die.for. Sunday evening my sweet girl came home and we had some fun playing the Wii together!

Best. Birthday Celebration. EVER.

29 is going to be a good age!

22 more days...

until my birthday!!! Wahoo!

I'm not one of those people who celebrates the whole week of my birthday, but I do thoroughly enjoy a good celebration on my favorite day of the year.

In case my parents or a certain boy are reading this, or just anyone who cares to spoil me, here are some things I'd love to receive for my birthday! :)

State T-Shirt - I NEED this in my wardrobe. I live in t-shirts and this one is perfect. Another plus, part of the purchase price goes towards MS research. Small, SC (duh), grey please and thank you.

Monogram T-Shirt - Why yes, another t-shirt. I may as well have cute ones, right? I love these monogram pocket tees. Casual yet still stylish. :) Small, any color (just not white or grey please), Empire font.

iPhone Case - Okay, I don't really need this. The last personalized case I bought is still holding up just fine but this one is cute. So, if someone just really wants me to have it, I wouldn't complain. iPhone 5 Vibe case, any colors, just my first name.

Michael Kors purse - I would looooove a new MK purse. My favorite designer by far!

Gift cards would be nice too - food places or gas cards! I travel a lot these days and y'all know I'm always eating out. :)

I can't believe I'll be one year closer to 30!

I'm 28 yrs old now!

I picked a bad week to be MIA on the blog. Lots to cover: pinterest things, hair cut, birthday, days off work, visits with friends. See what I mean?

First things first - I turned 28 on Thursday! I hate to admit this but I actually had to refer to my "27 While 27" list all year just to remember how old I was. 27 was just a weird age that didn't really come with anything exciting. I think 28 is a pretty good number. Not *too* close to 30 and not too far away that I feel like I'm super young.

Oh and I got my hair done on Wednesday so I must show you that first:

YAY for thinned out hair. It'll be thick again next week though.

He did that on purpose.

I had a wonderful birthday this year. I took off of work on Thursday and Friday. Thursday my brother Matt and I went to Carowinds for some fun. The actual car ride to and from was just as fun as the time we spent at the park...which was a grand total of an hour and a half. (round trip car ride was 3 hours...) It was just TOO dang hot to stay any longer than that. We rode all of 3 rides and left. Here is a little gem from the road trip. You're welcome.

I went to dinner with Justin and Madi at my traditional choice for my birthday dinner - Olive Garden. YUM! Madi and Justin did a great job on my presents - a gorgeous necklace from Handpicked from Madi and a pretty pink purse from Justin. Love them!

She doesn't like the camera lately.

Feels pretty good to be 28! Oh and about that 27 While 27 list....ummm, some things may need to be extended to 28. Whoops!

:) I'll fill y'all in on the other things this week. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Husband's 30th Birthday!

Oooooo weeeeee I'm tired!

Where do I even begin??? Well, I'll work backwards with the weekend recap because today (yesterday?!...it's midnight) was Justin's 30th birthday!!!!! Yes, my hubby is all grown up now! We celebrated on Saturday since we didn't really have any plans that day. I woke up early and had a yard sale to make a few $$ and get rid of some stuff. After that Justin, Madison, and I all went to lunch at Copper River Grill. It's a local restaurant chain and has really amazing burgers and pizza.

Madi was super excited to celebrate Daddy's birthday!

Justin wanted to go to Target and let Madi pick out a new toy. Yes, it was his birthday celebration but dad's will be dad's I guess!! Madi didn't complain. She got a new baby doll and Justin did end up finding a new iPhone case. We spent pretty much forever at Target just playing around and then stopped at Lowe's. I picked up some paint but that's another post! :)

Sunday was Justin's actual birthday. I was SUPER exhausted from painting the night before so I was grateful that we celebrated on Saturday. But as it's his one and only 30th birthday I had to make it a good one, so Madi and I ran some errands to get decorations and cupcakes before he woke up. I made pancakes for breakfast and we went back to Copper River for dinner (not planned at all but hubby wanted it again)!

What? You don't make pancake mustaches at your house?

Candle time!

All in all it was a wonderful weekend and I'm pretty sure hubs had a great birthday! I need a few more days to recover but I guess I'll get that next weekend. Stay tuned for the painting post. It's a good one. :)

And last but not least, HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY HUSBAND! I LOVE YOU!! I posted this on his wall and I just have to share. I think it's hilarious.

Husband's Bday & Boob Tube Babble!

Today is June 3rd.

June 3rd is my husband's birthday.

My husband is getting old.

But I'm right behind him. :-/

Happy Birthday to the most
wonderful husband ever!

I love you Justin! I hope you have a great birthday!!

YAY for it being Friday, right? Loved that we had a short work week. Today I'm linking up with Neely & Meagan for Boob Tube Babble! I mean, how could I not, since it's "babbling"? :) Cheesy, yes I know.

Boob Tube Babble

My thoughts on TV this week:

#1 - Premiere of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition -- LOVED it! I was really excited about this show! I love weight loss shows. Biggest Loser used to be my favorite show on TV but then they changed it and got all funky like most shows that have been on the air too long tend to do. I digress.

This new show is great. It features 1 person's *gag*-journey- of losing weight over the course of one whole year. You watch their progress and get to see the final outcome at the end of each episode. I really like this new approach of showing one person each week instead of 20 in one episode for 8 weeks. I loved Rachel and hello, the trainer is hot!!! Where have I seen him before?!

#2 - The Real Housewives of New Jersey - I'm probably going to get my weeks messed up but whatever. Every week is pretty much the same anyway.
  • Theresa - What is wrong with you?!?!?? I seriously think she's gone insane. That or she's so desperate for money that she's willing to make a fool of herself on tv. Oh right, that's exactly what she's doing. Oh and btw - Theresa, Kathy is right about you leaving your kids unattended. Hello! People were throwing elbows and she didn't even think twice about her kids. Get it together!
  • Jacqueline - She seems so normal. Why is she on this show??
  • Caroline - I can't decide if I like her or not. Sometimes she seems so grounded and then other times she goes right down to everyone else's level and acts just as immature as they do. I do feel bad for her that her sons are moving out, but she needs to remember she still has a daughter! Poor girl!
  • Theresa's Sister-in-Law - I don't remember her name and I'm too tired to look. Is it Melissa? Crap, now I'm curious. Anyway, I actually kind of like her! I feel like I'm not supposed to. She is married to a major jerk, but I enjoy her being on the show so far!
  • Kathy - She needs to stop trying to fix everything. That's all.
#3 - The Bachelorette - So not watching it. I tried, for about 5 minutes, during the premiere. I don't like Ashley and I've never been a big fan of The Bachelorette. Girls fighting over 1 guy is much more fun to watch than guys fighting over 1 girl.

That's pretty much all the TV I watched this week! :( I miss Pregnant in Heels & Criminal Minds!!

Do you agree or disagree with me? Did you watch Extreme Makeover? What'd you think? I want to know!
