Madi T Update

I cannot believe it's already May!! Partially because the year is flying by and partially because it's still not miserably hot and humid! We have a few fun things going on this month. Madi and I are going to Carowinds this Saturday. We are super excited! My company does an employee appreciation family event every year and it's always lots of fun...and free. :) Madi is especially excited because she is finally tall enough to ride the (kiddie) roller coaster. She definitely has my dare-devil gene. :)

Her dance recital is also this month!!! She started taking a tap & ballet combo class in September and has really enjoyed it. She doesn't care for tap much, but loves ballet. Today was picture day in her costume and her recital is in a few weeks. I cannot wait!! I have been looking forward to this since I signed her up. She did so great at her first recital. I'm anxious to see how much she's learned!

In other news, that innocent face is currently crying in her bed because she hates to sleep just as much as I do. I'm starting to think she's never going to fall asleep...

M's First Dance Recital!

My little tap dancer/ballerina had her first recital on Sunday. I was one proud mama!!! Her rehearsal was on Saturday and I was just grinning ear to ear. Recital on Sunday and I was grinning bigger ear to ear.

You know my girl - sweet, shy, reserved Miss M. Well, she LOVES the stage! She let me go sit in the audience while she stayed with her class before the recital started. Y'all - that is HUGE for her. I was soooo surprised.

The recital was perfect! They did about 3 tap dances and 2 ballet dances and then their leaps. I just couldn't be more proud. I took videos but my camera had horrible video quality for some reason. It's usually not that bad at all. :( But, here are some of my favorite pictures from the evening.

This day was probably one of the best I've had as a mother. Seeing my little girl grow up and be so independent just melts my heart. She is the best gift God could have ever given us! Love you to pieces Madi May!!

Dance Class

Last month, Madison started dance!!!! I have been so excited about this since I found out I was having a girl. I think we started her at the perfect time. She is typically very shy but has recently started breaking out of her shell.

Before her first dance class

She is taking one class at a local community center. It is 25 minutes of tap and 20 minutes of ballet. She says she likes ballet the best. That's my girl!

The first day of dance I was sooooo nervous. I thought for sure she'd cry and refuse to go in the class. Boy was I wrong! I walked her in, holding her hand, & sat her down next to a girl she just met. She gave me about 10 kisses (not complaining!) and then let me walk right out. No tears!! She did wonderful in her first class and has had 2 classes since then and is still doing great!! She's very attentive and has so much fun.

She has a recital at the end of this month and I just cannot wait! I'm so excited!!! Don't worry - I'll video tape it!
