Madi Moment & An Announcement!

Ohhhhh Monday. I do not love you. But I am thankful to be alive and kickin! :) I am also pretty happy that I start my new hours at work today. I'm now working 9am-6pm. At first, the thought of getting off at 6 was horrifying but I don't get home until 6:30 now because of traffic so I figure I'll only be getting home about 30 minutes later. Plus, Madi is NOT a morning person so I'm hoping the later start will help her too. :)

ANYWAY! On to my favorite subject for Monday: Madi Moments! But first - I want to open this up to you all. I've been contemplating this for a year or so and I've decided to just go with it. I'm going to start a link-up next week called "Toddler Talk Tuesdays" for anyone (not just mamas!) who wants to link up and tell everyone what funny/shocking/silly things your kids, friend's kids, nieces, nephews, etc. said that week. I love to keep up with the things Madi says and I find my blog to be a great way to do that and entertain y'all too. :) So, I hope y'all will link-up next week!

This week was a fun one...

Madi: "Mommy, can we watch a complicated movie? Like Ratatoille?"
Me: "What's complicated mean?"
Madi: "Like a movie we know, but it's different."

hrrmmm...okay Madi. :)

Also, her word for imagination is "magic-a-nation." Makes sense to me!

And this is my favorite. I just seriously love this:

MMM: Prayers & Stinky Feet

Guess what? It's Monday. Don't cry, one good thing about Monday's is a Madi Moment!!

The other night we were driving home and Madi asked me if she could say a prayer. I said yes, stopped the car (I was in a parking lot) and she prayed. She thanked Jesus for keeping her game on while we were in the store. This warmed my heart. The fact that my three year is asking to pray is just awesome!

She also remembered her memory verse she learned at church last Sunday. I'm so proud of her!

Another cute moment this week: We were lying in bed last night and she said "mommy, your feet stink." I said "they do not." We went back and forth a few times and then she said "let's just get going." I said huh? and she said "that's another way of saying let's stop talking about it." Ha! Where does she get this stuff?

Hope y'all have a great Monday - I will - it's my birthday week!!!!  YAY!!

Madi Moment Monday

Wow it has been at least a month since I've posted a Madi Moment. I can't believe I've been so slack!

Well, I have a cute one for y'all today from about a month ago.

Madi was at Sam's Club with her grandparents getting a tire for my sister-in-law's car.

{trying to figure out which tire needed to be replaced} Grandpa: "This one looks pretty old."

Madi: "That's like you, Grandpa."

Grandma: between chuckles, "Madi, that's not very nice."

Grandpa: "Yeah, this one is really bald."

Madi: laughing quietly to herself.

Grandma: "What Madi?"

Madi: "That's like Grandpa too."

:)

Hope y'all had a great Monday!

MMM, Giveaway Winner, & Memorial Day!

Madi Moment Monday! Oh this week has been full of new hilarious things said by Madi T herself. I just love her little mind!

Madi: "Chris was cutting some cheese, he didn't toot, and cut his finger."

LOL!!!!

The other day Justin, Madi, & I were all in the car. Justin & I were laughing about something and Madi said "guys, guys, enough excitement already." Where does she get this stuff???

:)

On a more serious note - Saturday morning Madi and I went to breakfast together. I decided it was a good time to tell her about my dad. I've actually never talked about him around her. I told her he died a few years ago. I didn't know she understood what that meant but she got really sad. It was so touching to see her react to that so emotionally. I told her it was nothing to be sad about, that he was in Heaven now. She asked if we could pray to him. I said we could pray to Jesus and ask Him to tell my dad something. She wanted to, right then, pray to Jesus and ask Him to tell my dad that we love him and miss him. I was so touched. She is such a loving, caring child. I couldn't ask for anything more and I know my dad would have loved her to pieces.

Thank you all for entering my giveaway and thank you to iselltshirts for hosting!! The winner is Nikki B.!  Nikki, email me and I'll get your info over to Teresa!

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day. Let's remember those who served and lost their lives for this country, and their families.

We don't have any big plans today. My mom is on her way over with breakfast and then we may hang out by the pool. Sounds like a good holiday to me!

MMM!

Happy Monday to y’all!!! I seriously NEED to like coffee today. I have been up since 5am and didn’t sleep well at all. Early to bed for me tonight.

So here are a few sweet & funny things Madi has said lately.

With her daddy eating ice cream (copied from his FB status) -
Madi: I’m glad we didn’t forget the blessing.
Justin: That’s because you’re a good girl and you never forget.
Madi: That’s because I remember that Jesus is important.
Justin: …
Justin: I love you…you know that right?
Madi: Of course, silly!

At her Pop’s house –
Madi: “Pop, you’re not fat. You just have a big belly.” J She’s so positive!

What things have your kids said lately that you always want to remember?

Madi Moment Monday: Words of Wisdom

Happy Monday everyone! This is going to be one of my favorite Madi Moment Monday's ever.

Sunday, after church, I asked Madi what she learned. She told me she learned that "Jesus died for me." Hearing her say those words, with a smile on her face, and knowing she knows the meaning of those words just makes me the happiest, proudest mom ever.

Justin talked to her more about it and she told me later that Jesus died for her so she could go to heaven and He died for the bad things we do. Wow! It is powerful reading it in the Bible but hearing it from a 3 year old is just a whole new level!

I am so thankful for a church that teaches kids about Jesus while making it exciting and fun! Madi's favorite place to go is church and she wants to tell everyone about it. How cool is that? If you live in South Carolina, I encourage you to take your kids and yourself to a NewSpring service. You won't regret it!!

Well, that's my MMM for the week. Truly one of the best!!

Madi Moment Monday: Milestones

Madi’s best saying this week: “I have enough love for everybody.” :) And her teenage moment this week: “you’re aggravating me!”

Here are some new things she is doing/learning at 3 years, 3 months old:

· Recognizes how many items are in a group without counting (ex: 3 cherries, 4 books) (can also add by looking at her fingers or pictures)
· Learned to swing! (March 10, 2012)
· Has an extensive vocabulary
· Recognizes most of the alphabet
· Able to put her clothes on by herself (for the most part)
· Plays very well by herself
· Makes friends at the playground (this is a big one for her)
· Still working on learning to ride her tricycle

Other things I want to remember:

· Favorite foods are cheese grits, crackers, & pistachios
· Got her first splinter (March 10, 2012)
· Loves church and Jesus SO much!
· Makes up songs
· Favorite movies are Monsters Vs. Aliens, Despicable Me & Meet the Robinsons
· Favorite TV shows are Dora, Team Umizoomi, Bubble Guppies
· Favorite color is pink

I know this probably isn’t interesting for y'all, but I will forget this stuff if I don’t write it down!! :)

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Madi Moment Monday: Growing Up

The weather here has been so nice lately! Madi and I have been going to the playground every weekend. It's crazy what a difference a year can make - she is now able to play on the playground by herself and is really fearless!

This afternoon we checked out a new playground. It was so much fun!

She climbed this thing like it was nothing!!

So much fun!!

At the top of the slide!

She also tackled this on her own. I was super nervous but she did so good! She's super independent!

It probably seems silly to some that I'm so excited but she's just growing up so fast and I love how brave she is!

We had a great afternoon and then had more fun at church!

More proof that she's growing up - Madi said her first cuss word today. GASP. I was not a happy mom!! Tonight, she asked me if she could have cookies. I said no and she replied with "oh damn." NOOOOO. Those words did not come out of my baby!!! Justin and I were so shocked. Neither of us cuss so I'm not real sure where she picked that up. I guess it was bound to happen but man, I didn't expect it this soon!!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Breaking Out of the Shell

On Saturday Madi and I were on our way to the playground. It was a really bright, sunny, beautiful day. She asked me “Mommy, is it Sunday?” I said no, it’s Saturday. She replied with “but it’s sunny outside.” J I love the minds of little children.

I am so so proud of my little girl. We took her to the playground on Saturday and Sunday because it was gorgeous both days. She played with the other children so well. If you know her, you know this is a big deal. She is typically extremely shy and reserved. She totally broke out of her shell and laughed and chased the other kids. She did this at church Sunday night too! Her teacher came to my room twice(I’m in the nursery Sunday nights) and told me Madi was playing with the other kids, participating and having a blast. I cannot express how happy that made me. She absolutely loves church and absorbs everything they teach her but she has had trouble opening up and really getting into it and last night, she did it!

I am so happy that she is growing into such a strong, independent, socialable child! She really is a gift from God and I couldn’t be any happier! God is good.

Happy Monday!
