What are you watching?

Boob Tube Babble

I haven't been on a reading kick these past few weeks which means I have been on a tv kick. Well, hulu kick that is. Here are a few of my fav shows right now!

Pan Am - This show is SO good!! I honestly had no clue what it was about but kept seeing things about it on Twitter. I was bored one night and watched a few minutes on tv, then had to go watch the previous two episodes on hulu. It follows the story of 4 stewardesses of Pan Am and is set in the 1960s. There's a bit of suspense thrown in there too. I love the clothes and the actresses. I find myself smiling at my computer while watching it. Kinda strange, but true!

Criminal Minds - So glad the new season just started. If you've never seen this show you are totally missing out. It's like Law & Order but better. I love L&O: SVU but this show takes it to another level. These detectives are criminal profilers and really study the crimes to figure out the suspect. It's a great show to watch with your spouse!

New Girl - This is a new sitcom about a quirky, unusual girl who moves in with 3 guys. It's hilarious. I laugh out loud and want to be best friends with Jess (Zoey Deschanel). I was looking for another funny, light-hearted show and this is it!

What have you been watching lately? Do you like these shows?

On another note - THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY!!! This has been such a long week. Tonight I'm going out to dinner with my best friend Melanie and tomorrow I'm going to an out of town baby shower and then to the fair!!! Lots to recap next week. :) Have a great weekend!!

Bayou is one of my favorite words.

It's Friday and that means it's time for Boob Tube Babble!

**Spoiler Alert!!**

#1 - Sister Wives - First let me just say I love this show. It's just soooo different. Every time I watch it I catch myself wondering why & how these women (& Kody) live like they do. I try not to judge though because it's just a different lifestyle. It's how they were brought up so it's what they know.

Anyway! This was a really good episode! The Browns have moved to Las Vegas and each wife is getting their OWN house. What?!! If you follow me on Twitter (brittan27) you probably saw my tweets about this. How on Earth can they afford FOUR house payments?! Especially when only 2 of them work now! I mean I know he drives that sporty Lexus, but four house payments and four cars and a bagillion and one kids. That's insane! It was cool though watching them each pick their houses. I feel bad for Mary for being singled out since she only has 1 kid. It must be hard for her. :( And Robyn's news!!! I'm oddly excited for them...& anxious to see how the other wives take the news.

PS.  I still wonder how Robyn wound up with Kody. Mean? Sorry.

#2 - Swamp People - So, I was up late one night and found that Hulu has every episode of Swamp People! I have heard a lot about this show but I never watch things on the History Channel. Boy am I glad I gave it a shot. Who would have ever thought a show about killing alligators could be entertaining? I just love the accents and it's just totally intriguing. Ha, I'm hooked!!

#2 - Real Housewives of New York City - Phew. I'm nauseous. This episode was insane. I feel like I just got off the world's craziest roller coaster; that or I turned bipolar just by watching this. I love drama and I love reality TV but this is kind of extreme. Shockingly though in this episode (& this episode only) I agreed with Alex (at the dinner party scene) and thought LuAnn was being incredibly rude. Since when is dinner such a big deal? So what if LuAnn paid for it all? She just does it to use against them! Alex typically is my least favorite house wife but in the dinner scene she was definitely right and I probably would have blown up on LuAnn way more than she did. And Kelly - Oh Kelly. Must she always butt into other people's drama? Leave it alone!

This about sums up how this episode made me feel:

I guess that's really all the TV I watched this week. I watched a lot of Swamp People. Gotta catch up on the season!

I have to work Saturday until noon but after that we don't have any plans for the weekend. This makes me happy. Just a teeny bit of work, church on Sunday, and relaxation! At least that's what I'm hoping for!

Do you have big plans? Or are you looking forward to relaxation, like me?

Husband's Bday & Boob Tube Babble!

Today is June 3rd.

June 3rd is my husband's birthday.

My husband is getting old.

But I'm right behind him. :-/

Happy Birthday to the most
wonderful husband ever!

I love you Justin! I hope you have a great birthday!!

YAY for it being Friday, right? Loved that we had a short work week. Today I'm linking up with Neely & Meagan for Boob Tube Babble! I mean, how could I not, since it's "babbling"? :) Cheesy, yes I know.

My thoughts on TV this week:

#1 - Premiere of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition -- LOVED it! I was really excited about this show! I love weight loss shows. Biggest Loser used to be my favorite show on TV but then they changed it and got all funky like most shows that have been on the air too long tend to do. I digress.

This new show is great. It features 1 person's *gag*-journey- of losing weight over the course of one whole year. You watch their progress and get to see the final outcome at the end of each episode. I really like this new approach of showing one person each week instead of 20 in one episode for 8 weeks. I loved Rachel and hello, the trainer is hot!!! Where have I seen him before?!

#2 - The Real Housewives of New Jersey - I'm probably going to get my weeks messed up but whatever. Every week is pretty much the same anyway.
  • Theresa - What is wrong with you?!?!?? I seriously think she's gone insane. That or she's so desperate for money that she's willing to make a fool of herself on tv. Oh right, that's exactly what she's doing. Oh and btw - Theresa, Kathy is right about you leaving your kids unattended. Hello! People were throwing elbows and she didn't even think twice about her kids. Get it together!
  • Jacqueline - She seems so normal. Why is she on this show??
  • Caroline - I can't decide if I like her or not. Sometimes she seems so grounded and then other times she goes right down to everyone else's level and acts just as immature as they do. I do feel bad for her that her sons are moving out, but she needs to remember she still has a daughter! Poor girl!
  • Theresa's Sister-in-Law - I don't remember her name and I'm too tired to look. Is it Melissa? Crap, now I'm curious. Anyway, I actually kind of like her! I feel like I'm not supposed to. She is married to a major jerk, but I enjoy her being on the show so far!
  • Kathy - She needs to stop trying to fix everything. That's all.
#3 - The Bachelorette - So not watching it. I tried, for about 5 minutes, during the premiere. I don't like Ashley and I've never been a big fan of The Bachelorette. Girls fighting over 1 guy is much more fun to watch than guys fighting over 1 girl.

That's pretty much all the TV I watched this week! :( I miss Pregnant in Heels & Criminal Minds!!

Do you agree or disagree with me? Did you watch Extreme Makeover? What'd you think? I want to know!
