Five Question Friday!

pre to the ps. -- I posted late last night - don't miss it. It's clothes. :)

It has been a looonnggg time since I've participated in Five Question Friday and let me tell you, I miss it! So, I'm linking-up today. I just love Mama M!

1. If you could have been (could be) any profession you wanted (brains and $$$ no problem) what would it be? Hrrmmm...I used to really want to be a journalist. I think I would really enjoy that. I just am not really good at going up to people I don't know and demanding answers so maybe that wouldn't work out so well? Then perhaps a part-timer at what I already do? Because I like my not so fancy job, but working less hours and not having to worry about money would be nice. :)

2. How often do you clean out your car? Typically I just do it when I can't stand the mess any more. Like yesterday. I couldn't handle the crumbs/leaves/trash for one more second so I pulled out the shop vac and went to town! Now it's pretty and I'm happy. But, um, the windows still need to be cleaned. I don't do that.

3. Do you wish there was such a thing as fashion police or are you deeply relieved? Have you seen my wardrobe? I'm relieved!! I live in jeans/sweatpants/tshirts. I'm all about comfort. I would probably dress fashionably if I had a clue what looks good together, but I don't.

4. What's your go to food/drink/activity when stressed? Lately it's been a big bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream and a bubble bath. Soon though, it's going to have to change to Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches because I'm just not liking my thighs lately.

5. If you had twins, what would you name them? I have ALWAYS wanted twins!!! I know it would be hard as heck but it's just always been something I've wanted. My grandpa was a twin. Does that mean it's a little more likely for me? I can never remember if it's maternal or paternal that matters. But who am I kidding, I'm not having any more babies!!

Okay names - as much as I've dreamt of having twins, I've never named them. There are only a few names I can think of that I like - Brinley, Parks, Camden. I probably wouldn't do matchy names.

Don't forget to check out my blog sale. Lots of cute little girl's dresses!!

FQF: I got nothing.

I am SO happy it is Friday. This has been such a long week. We have NO plans this weekend except for church, of course. I'm super thrilled to do nothing!!!

FQF time!

1. How often do you shave your legs in the winter? About once a week, at least. I can't stand to have hairy legs!!

2. Valentine's Day cards for your spouse: funny or romantic? A little of both? I bought the cheap $1 cards at Target this year. :)

3. What are you most looking forward to about spring? Days at the playground with M! She is finally at the age where she can (and will) play by herself and I can relax. :)

4. What's your favorite way to pamper yourself? Pedicures!!! I've only ever had two or three but it's a nice thought. :) Honestly, just getting to stay up late by myself makes me happy.

5. Does your tax return go into savings or do you spend it instantly? Well, in the past we have spent it on needless things and maybe one bill. This year it is ALL going to bills. I'm excited about it too! We are (very) slowly working towards getting out of debt!

This is a great Friday for the movies! The new Denzel Washington movie & The Vow come out!!!

FQF: I wanna be a sweet tart.

I'm linking up with Mama M today for FQF! She is in Mexico (lucky!) so Kate is hosting the link-up. Check it out!

1. What's the last thing you bought yourself?
Well, I take this to mean something snazzy I bought myself, not just like groceries. So, the last cool thing I bought myself is the Clarisonic Mia. I will post my thoughts on it soon!

2. What is your favorite meal on a cold winter day?
Uh, pizza? I don't know! I don't really eat things based on the season. Well, I do eat sausage & cheese balls, typically, only in the winter. So, there, that's my answer.

3. Have you started looking at swimsuits this year, and do you buy a new one every year?
No, I have not started looking and I do not want to either. I usually do buy at least one every year. Sadly, this will probably be the first year I don't wear a bikini. Depressing.

4. If you could be any candy, what would you be and why?
A Sweet Tart!! I'm obsessed with sweet tarts. They are sweet, tangy, and pretty. Who wouldn't want to be those things?

5. What are you most passionate about?
JESUS!!! I love Jesus, my church, and learning more about Him. I love talking to others about Him and changing every day (hopefully!) to be a better Christian.

Bonus Question - 6. What is your favorite thing to pin on Pinterest?
Probably food! Ha! Not because I'm actually going to make anything on there (although I have tried once, surprisingly), but because I think food pictures are really pretty.

Bonus, Bonus Question (by yours truly) - Who can help me fall asleep for approximately 45 minutes?
M was awake from 3:30-4am screaming that she was hungry. I caved at 4 and gave her a cereal bar. Now she and J are fast asleep and here I am, wide awake at 5am. Oy. At least it's Friday, right? Oh wait, I work tomorrow too. Okay, at least I have off on Monday. That works. :)

FQF: Fridays bring out my sarcastic side.

Man it's been a while since I've linked up for Five Question Friday! I have missed it!

1. If you had the opportunity to bungee jump, would you?
YES!!!! I have always wanted to bungee jump! I have been bungee swinging at an amusement park but it is so not the same. The only thing that kind of makes me nervous about it is that you typically jump off a bridge and I'm just scared of being dipped in the water. Idk. I'm just not a huge fan of going under water at fast speeds. I know you aren't supposed to hit the water, but ya know...these are my thoughts. Despite this - yes! Let's go jump NOW!

2. Would you rather go to the movie theater or to the drive-in?
Movie theater. Hands down. "Easy peasy lemon squeezy" as Madi says. I do not do bugs or outdoors. I just think it'd be uncomfortable. I'd much rather sit inside and watch a movie.

3. Do you have your groceries delivered?
Um, do you?

No of course not. Okay, I feel bad.  If someone actually said yes to this question then forgive me. I just didn't know people actually did that. I mean I guess if I was unable to go out of my house then I would, but otherwise - no, I go to the store for my groceries.

4. Eyebrows: Do you wax, thread, pluck, or stay au natural?
Okay let me start by saying yes I do pluck my eyebrows! I wax very rarely and then try plucking to keep the shape and then get them waxed again when they have lost their shape. At least that's the idea. I need to go get them waxed asap. But I pluck at least twice a week!

Oh and I'm curious about the threading but idk if I'd pay to have it done.

Now, let me just say this: Moms, PLEASE inform your daughters that they need to pluck their eyebrows!! (at the appropriate age of course) I still give my mom a hard time about this - I went through middle school and high school with a freaking unibrow because I was never aware that I should pluck my eyebrows! I didn't know that wasn't normal!!! GRRRR. Thanks mom for the great senior pictures and my lack of a cool factor during my adolescence.

5. Would the people you went to high school with be surprised by your life today?
No, because they are all on Facebook and have had full access to my life since my junior year of college! :) Okay but seriously - probably not so much surprised by my life but by my looks. As noted above, I was not living up to my full potential, we will say, in high school. I've lost weight and actually wear make-up now and clothes that fit. :)

FQF: I'm a strange girl

I love this weekend! Tonight we are going to Greenville to have dinner with my BFF and to do a little shopping. We are staying there for the night and then in the am we are hitting the road to Helen, Georgia to visit Justin's grandparents! I'm so excited to see them again and also thrilled that Madi is going to get to meet her great-grandparents for the first time! I'll be sure to post lots of fun pics from the trip.

This week's Five Question Friday questions are kinda deep! At least, for me. So here we go!

1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?
Boring answer - nope.

2. Do you still have your wedding dress?
Ay yi yi.

This is a sensitive subject for me. We did not have a wedding and I did not have a wedding dress. But, I will elaborate on this later. Husband and I are thinking of rectifying this within the near future.

3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?
Okay. If I tell you, you have to promise not to laugh. Promise?

I haven't done this in a while - well like a few weeks, but when I get *really* stressed/frustrated/upset I like to go sit in a dark closet. Okay please don't leave. Ha. It's weird yes, but there is something I find comforting about being in very small, dark spaces when I'm upset. It calms me down.

This is really confusing to me though because I'm usually very scared of the dark! I'm a strange girl I guess.

4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?
Yes, Madi does still sleep in our bed. I know, I know - that bed we bought her was supposed to do the trick. FAIL. Truth is, I do not mind her sleeping in our bed. I kind of like it when she's not kicking and slapping me in her sleep because it makes me feel like I get to spend more time with her, even if we are asleep.

For those of you who don't have kids yet and say you won't let your kids sleep in your bed - you'll change your mind when they are screaming their heads off in the middle of the night and all you want is to go back to bed. Oh, you'll cave. We all do. :)

5. Do you watch late night TV?
I watch TV late at night. Does that count?

I don't want like Conan or Jay Leno or anything like that. I usually have the TV on HGTV or Food Network simply for the noise while I'm on the computer or something. I always have to be multi-tasking.

If you stuck around through this one - congrats! Glad I didn't scare you off!

Happy Weekend! :)

FQF: Snakes vs. Birds

Is today Friday? I have no idea. All I know is that I am on day #2 in this tiny hospital room with a bathroom the size of a VERY small closet. I'm talking linen closet small.

Anyway, time for some fun questions that will hopefully keep me awake, because I'm totally about to fall asleep!

1. Have you ever forgotten your child in a store or at school?
I have not and I pray I never do!! I would feel so so awful if I ever did that. My mom forgot me at school once, but luckily I was old enough to just walk home. I was still sad though!

2. Where did you go on your very first date? (Like...first first, not first with your spouse or current significant other!)
I think I was dropped off at the movies by my parents and met my "boyfriend" there. Totally middle school! I think we actually went to see Space Jam with my "boyfriend's" friend tagging along! Does that even count as a date? So funny how young and silly that was, but I was so excited and nervous just like you should be on your first date!

3. What's your "silly" fear? (We're not talking water and heights.)
Okay, maybe I've told you this before, maybe I haven't. Idk. I am terrified of birds. Well, really anything with feathers - birds, CHICKENS, turkeys, GEESE, swans, PEACOCKS, etc. Get those creepy things away from me. My dad had pet parrots at his house and I would cry if he opened the cages. They always flew at me and I would seriously panic.

Oh another funny bird story - My mom and I went to Peru on a missions trip when I was in high school. While we were there we visited a snake farm in the jungle and to leave the farm we either had to walk around a ton of gigantic (I can't remember what kind now but think largest snake ever) snakes on the ground or walk around a tiny parrot. Guess which path I tried to take? Yep, the snakes. My mom jerked me away and made me walk by the parrot and I about died. Totally. I think it tried to bite my arm...or something. The snakes would not have messed with me. Horrifying.

Oh and my other silly fears are cotton balls and wet shower curtains. CREEPS.

4. Confrontation: do you cause it, deal with it as it comes, or run far far away?
I mean I wouldn't say I cause it but I am not a doormat either. It also depends on who we are talking about me confronting. People in stores/restaurants that need some lessons in manners? Sure, I will tell them to be nicer. Work people? No, I try to stay away from that kind of confrontation. It just makes for an awkward work situation. At home with friends & family? I will confront the issue if it's come to that point. I don't pick fights, but I definitely speak my mind and take up for myself and my family. :)

5. Wood floors or carpet?
CARPET! I think I am one of the very few people who prefers carpet over wood floors. Hubby loves wood floors but my least favorite chore ever is sweeping so no thank you! Plus I feel like wood floors are just "cold" and I like the comfy feeling at home. Don't get me wrong, I think wood floors make your house much more "magazine-worthy" but I like how carpet feels way better...and I love vacuuming!

I liked these questions today! Please play along so I can read your answers! Help me out - I'm SO incredibly bored in this place!!

FQF: I'm not lazy, I promise.

Ahhh I thought Friday would never get here! The days at work are going by a bit faster, because I'm so busy now but still...Friday always takes forever to arrive!

Time for some Five Question Friday! :)

1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
Oh man, I am so guilty of this. I typically do this on a Sunday and then a Monday. Let me plead my case before you leave my blog forever! Ha! If I wear something on Sunday and don't go anywhere, then I'll sometimes wear it again the next day to work. I mean if no one saw me then what's the harm, right? Hope so!

2. If you had to chose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
Well, considering I want to stay in the South I think I would pick Atlanta, GA. This is only if I HAD to though. I have driven in Atlanta a few times and it is definitely not something I want to do every day. I do not have that kind of patience! (Although I do feel a strong sense of accomplishment after successfully driving on a 6-7 lane highway!)

3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
Correction - kid. I mean, it just depends on how far we are going. It wouldn't really matter if we were taking Madi or not. I do not like to drive so flying would probably be my preference!!

4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
Um. I don't know that I have ever done any "Spring cleaning." I clean when I have the energy or the motivation and that's about it. Gosh that sounds lazy. :-/ I promise my house is not gross. It's not sparkling clean but it's not nasty either!

5. What is the best book you have ever read?
Goshhhh. This is a tie between The Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin and Jemima J by Jane Green. Love, love, loved Heart of the Matter, but I also loved Jemima J and it's the only book that I've ever read twice and that is definitely saying something. They are both great and I highly recommend them!

Link up with Mama M if you want to play along!

PS. I need blogger help! I can no longer paste html codes (you know, like blog button codes, etc.). They do not show up as pictures once I "publish" my post. They stay in the html format. Any ideas on how to fix this?! I would really appreciate some help! Thanks! :)

FQF: I'm an Icee kinda girl.

Earlier today I was thinking about taking a family day trip this weekend, but after talking to Madi she informed me that she wants to stay home. She wants Justin and I to play "castle" with her. :) So that is just what we will do. I think it will be nice to have a cozy weekend at home and maybe even venture out to the park if we really do get that 60* weather I've been hearing about.

On to my favorite part of Fridays!

1. If you had $1,000 to donate to a charity, which would you choose?
This is easy - St. Jude's Children's Hospital because they always send me those super cute, kinda tacky address labels that I use on my bills. :) Okay kidding - that's not really why. I'm a mom and that means children have my heart. I would love to be able to donate lots of money to this wonderful charity.

2. Snow days: Do you welcome them happily or are they a pain in your butt?
Hm. Depends.

If I go outside and "play" in the snow and then come back in - pain in my butt because then I have to clean up the massive mess that all of this snow brings. If I don't go outside and get to cuddle inside with my family all day then I welcome it!

3. What talent did you wish you had and why?
Hm. Did I wish? So when I was a kid I'm guessing? Well, I have always wanted to be able to draw/paint. I still do wish I had this talent. My dad was a great artist and I guess those genes just skipped right over me!

4. Are you a news, politics, or celebrity gossip junkie?
Omgosh. Celebrity gossip PLEASE! I am obsessed. News? Politics? Not my thing. Knowing that every woman in Hollywood right now is pregnant, now that's important information.

5. What is your favorite "cocktail"?
Boring answer, but I do not drink. Beer makes me gag (so nasty!), and I used to like vodka cranberries but now I'm more of an Icee kinda girl! :)

FQF: Diet Coke, please.

I know this was only a 3 day work week for me but I am totally ready for the weekend. We do not have any real plans and I just love that! Hopefully we will see some friends and relax all three days!

1. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get tired of?
Oh bother. I suppose the typical "chick flicks" - The Devil Wears Prada, Mean Girls, & Because I Said So. Love these movies!! Although, I wouldn't really say I could watch them over and over again, or any movie for that matter. If they made a Gilmore Girls movie, then I think that would be a possibility.

2. What's your biggest pet peeve right now?
Hrm. I have about a billion. One pet peeve is slow drivers. More specifically, people who turn slowly. You know, they practically stop just to turn and then speed up again. GRRRRR. Get off the road already!!!

Okay. I'm fine now.

3. If you had to describe your best friend in five words or less, what would you say?
I have a few best friends and this pretty much sums up them all (except hubs!)  ---

pretty, ditzy, loyal, funny, & ocd :)

image via

4. If you don't have to worry about money or go to school what would you do for a living?
I would stay home with my daughter! But I would definitely have to start volunteering and/or take on some other tasks to avoid complete boredom! Once Madi grows up, I would love to be able to volunteer in third world countries. That is something hubs and I both really want to do one day!

5. What is your one "splurge" item, that you will always buy, no matter the cost?
DIET COKE! Okay, I know this isn't that expensive but I've bought Diet Pepsi before because it was on sale and Diet Coke wasn't and let me tell you, I will never do it again. Nothing can substitute for my Diet Coke!!!

image via

Another thing would be my iPhone. They are a bit more expensive than other phones, but I love it and have become totally addicted.

FQF: Superstitious much?

Yay it's Friday!!! Tonight my bff from college, Felony Melanie, and I are going out to dinner and then going to my house to play Kinect! I can't wait! We may even throw in a little Monopoly game. Yes, we are hardcore like that.

Now on to Five Question Friday!

1. What is your current favorite book, and why?
My current favorite book is The Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin. Have y'all read this? It was the first Emily Giffin book I read and after I was immediately hooked. I've read her first two books and am in the process of reading her third now. For those of you who visit often, you know I've been in this process for quite a while now (see sidebar). I'm getting there y'all! I "lost" the book for a little bit so I'm just now really getting into it.

My all-time favorite book is Jemima J by Jane Green. This book is also awesome. I've actually read it twice, which is something I can NEVER do with books, hence the title as my all-time fav book. It's great though, it's about an overweight girl who goes through the trials and tribulations of losing weight. I won't give away the ending though, don't worry!

2. Do you go to the dentist regularly?
Hm. Unfortunately (fortunately?) I didn't have this blog when I went through my terrible dentist experience, but let's just say I am not a fan. I had to get a root canal (not so bad) and then get my wisdom teeth out (SO BAD - TEN post-op visits! TEN!) and since then I have tried to stay as far away from the dentist as possible. Don't worry, my mouth isn't all gross. It's been less than a year. No, I have never done the 6 month cleanings. I will go before the year is up though, don't fret!

3. What is your worst memory from high school?
Oh wow. All four years. Next question.

Okay really, I feel like I may have already posted about this before but I'm too lazy to check... my worst memory (besides the fact that all of high school was torture for me) was when I showed up late for graduation practice and I was forced to sit at the front of the gym all by myself, facing my senior class. MEAN.

4. What do you hope to be remembered for in your life?
Serious question, yikes! I definitely hope to be remembered as being a Christian lady who was always helpful and considerate of others. And of course I want to be remembered as being a good mother. I pray that I am doing this mothering thing right!

5. Are you superstitious, or do you have any superstitions?
No, I am not. Boring, I know! The closest I've ever come to being superstitious was when I used to make a wish at 11:11. I'm not even sure if that's considered a superstition though.

That's all folks! (Can y'all tell I didn't get much sleep last night? I'm always really hyper, ironically enough, when I don't get sleep.)

Happy Weekend!

FQF: I want another Barbie Tent.

Madi pee pee'd in the potty last night!!!! Wahooooo!!!

I thought that would never happen. I'm a tad bit excited, in case you couldn't tell. :)

Today is my Thursday, ay yi yi. Is that how you spell that? Oh well. On to Five Question Friday!

1.  What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?!
Well, as mentioned here I kind of already know all of my Christmas gifts.
:-/ It's hard to be surprised when there are specific things you want and hubs has a bad memory! :) The top gift on my list is/was the North Face Fleece, that I've sorta kinda already received. In my defense, Black Friday was COLD and I spent the whole night outside. So, I had a good excuse. :)

There is one thing on my wish list that I'm not sure I'm getting. Ed Hardy perfume. LOVE. It's incredible.

2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?
Hm. This is a tough one. Most of my "big" gifts are usually on my birthday...

My favorite gift as a kid was my Barbie tent! I do remember that vividly!

I imagine it looked something like this. Totally awesome in the 90s ya know.

I really can't think of my past Christmas gifts as an adult. My mind has gone blank!

3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grew up?
I would be an accountant or a financial advisor. I majored in English, got a job in accounting, and instantly wished I had gone to school for that instead. I do not use my degree, at all. I don't really even know why I majored in English... grrr.

4. When do you put up your tree?
Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving. I get so excited about Christmas and love putting it up early so we can enjoy it for a full month.

5. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas! My favorite holiday used to be Thanksgiving, but well, not anymore. (long, ridiculous, petty story) Christmas is an amazing time of year. I love giving presents, sending Christmas cards, attending the church services, celebrating Christ's birth, and being with my family!

FQF: I must have been on something.

This has been the longest week ever. Three 10 hour days at work and planning for M's bday party tomorrow has got me worn out!! I still have lots to do tonight too. But, I'll probably just stay up late because I've been having a BIG shopping itch lately. Good thing we got our Christmas bonuses yesterday!!! (Now I just need to hang on to it until Black Friday!)

Ok FQF time!

1. What Christmas song do you loathe?

Call me Scrooge, but pretty much all of them. I mean, I do like the classics like "Jingle Bells" and "O Holy Night" and "Jingle Bell Rock" (yes, I consider that a classic). But in general I think Christmas music is annoying. Sorry.

2. Do you and your significant other cuddle at night or sleep on opposite sides of the bed?

Well, we usually do not go to bed at the same time. I've been working late so I tend to stay up later so I can unwind. But I guess even when we do go to bed at the same time we really don't cuddle. Don't get me wrong, we love cuddling but we both need our space to sleep. Plus, half way through the night we usually have a toddler in the bed with us.

3.  Have you ever had surgery?

Hm, well I mean not your typical "in the hospital for a few nights" surgery. But, yes I've had surgery a few times. I had to have plastic surgery & 64 stitches on my face from a bicycle accident when I was 8. I also had oral surgery when I got my wisdom teeth removed. Let me tell you & please listen (read?) carefully:

If you still have your wisdom teeth and it is not life or death to keep them, then by all means KEEP THEM.

A few weeks ago I answered a question on one of these things and of course I don't remember what linky it was, but I said childbirth was the most painful experience of my life. WRONG. I can't believe I forgot about getting my wisdom teeth out. I must have been on something. I mean okay, maybe your wisdom teeth experience wasn't as horrifying as mine but oh my gosh mine sucked. I had TEN post-op visits, an oral surgeon who yelled at me and made me cry, dry sockets, and I now have chronic sinusitis 6 months later due to Mr. Mean Surgeon's crappy work.

Okay I'll stop. That was way more than you asked for on this question.

4.  When do you typically have your holiday shopping done?

Ha! Okay so when people tell me they started their shopping early and are almost finished, I laugh. I started my shopping in June and I will not be finished until Christmas Eve when the stores are closed. I don't stick with a list. I love, love, love to give. I like receiving too, but I just love making people happy! So, I buy things for people that I know they want (aka from a list) but I also buy things here and there that I think they will like. Problem is, when I buy things randomly throughout the year, I have the hardest time saving it for Christmas. So far though, I've done really well with that this year!

5. If money were not an issue (and you HAD to pick something), what would your ultimate luxury item be?

Well, since I HAVE to pick...

a yacht
a chauffeur & a housekeeper (are those items?)
a gorgeous house on the beach with a wrap around porch

I guess that'll do.

Is it 11:30 yet? I'm spending my lunch hour at Target in search of an outfit for the big day tomorrow. Oh and M needs leggings.

FQF: Santa Clause, I miss you

This weekend is a girl's weekend! My bests and I are headed to Atlanta (yes, Miss Madi is included in my "bests") to shop 'til we drop! Northpoint Mall here we come! We are leaving Saturday evening due to a work conflict but will have all day Sunday to play. Yay!

It's Friday so you know what that means - Five Question Friday time!

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Childbirth. Hands down.

Well, let me be more specific - not exactly the birthing itself, but the time leading up to the birth aka contractions. After I got the epideral it was smooth sailing but before that HOLY MOLY. No one told me my whole body would be shaking uncontrollably and the dumb nurse would make me walk around after I'd been walking around all darn day in the snow, at the mall, & at the commissary THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING!!!! I had done enough walking thankyouverymuch. Sorry, I digress. That's a story for another day.

So, labor contractions in case you missed that!

2. How much sleep do you get at night?
On average, I'm lying in bed for about 7 hours. Notice, I did not say sleeping. Some nights (& yes I realize this is my fault) we have a toddler in our bed, so I probably sleep about 5 out of those 7 hours. But for the most part I get about 7 hours of rest.

3. How long did you believe in Santa Clause? How did you find out that he did not exist?
I think I was 8 when I found out Santa wasn't real. One day I asked my mom if the Easter Bunny was real because the idea of a bunny hoping around and leaving baskets on front porches (see side note below) just seemed a bit questionable to me. Well, my mom figured I was asking about every childhood myth so she told me Santa & the Tooth Fairy were both made-up also. I was not a happy camper. I remember telling her I only wanted to know about the Easter Bunny!!

*side note - Am I the only one who was told this story about the Easter Bunny? My husband and other friends of mine thought I was crazy when I mentioned it. Haha! I thought every kid was told that just like Santa bringing gifts down through the chimney.*

4. What was the last movie you saw in the theater?
Hubs and I went to the movies last weekend and saw Due Date. It was hysterical!!! Very crude at parts (typical) but still SO funny! I wouldn't recommend watching it with your parents, like the family we saw leaving the theater, but definitely a good date night movie!

"You better check yourself before you wreck yourself." :)

5. What do you wear to bed?
Orange AE lounge pants and a t-shirt. So sexy, I know. My poor husband. What can I say? I like comfort and think those women in movies who wear lingerie to bed every night should be slapped, because they are giving our husbands false hopes. Unless of course you all do that, and in that case I guess I'm just a lazy, crappy wife. Whoops.

Today is the last day to enter my Tyler Candle Giveaway!! Don't miss out, enter now!

Happy weekend y'all!!

FQF: Beach House Please

Okay so today isn't Friday but I'm going to do Five Question Friday anyway. Better late than never!

1. If you could have any talent and turn it into an occupation, what would it be?
This is easy. I wish I could paint. Or draw, or design. Basically I wish I was an artist. I think it would so awesome to be able to basically decorate my house in own artwork and also make a career out of doing something I love. My dad was a very talented painter, unfortunately he didn't pass those genes onto me. I think Madi is going to be an artist though. She shows a lot of potential!

2.  Would you rather have a house at the beach or a cabin in the woods?
Hubs and I were just talking about this today actually. We often discuss where we want to retire. I say the beach and he says the mountains. I just think I'd be bored in the mountains. I hate nature, so doesn't the beach make more sense for me? Plus I'd be encouraged to stay in shape. If I lived in the mountains I'd bake all day long, and then eat what I baked. So, the beach it is.

3. Is there any meaning or reasoning for the names you chose for your child/children?
Hubs & I both love the name Madison. There isn't any significance other than the fact that I think it is the ONLY name we agreed on. I wanted to name her something uncommon, like my name but he didn't like anything I came up with. I actually suggested Madison when we first started thinking of names and he said he didn't like it, then a few months later he was like "hey, what about Madison?" and I was like "seriously?" So I think he just wanted to say it was "his idea."  :)

Her middle name is the name with meaning to us. She was named after my cousin who passed away shortly before I became pregnant. I like being able to tell Madi about her middle name and in turn letting her know more about my dear cousin.

4. What is your guilty pleasure?
Ohhhh man. My easy answer is reality tv. But that's more like a staple in my life. I actually think my guilty pleasure is chips & dip. Yes, I picked food. I always feel guilty when eating chips & dip and I don't do it often at all, but when I do I'm very relaxed. Crap, now I want chips & dip.

5. Do you live in a house that is "deep cleaned or straightened?"
Bahahaha. Deep cleaned. That's funny. When we first moved in this house, I had dreams of washing the baseboards once a week and dusting the blinds once a week and utilizing the really cool way that my windows can flip to the inside so I can clean the outside... Well, we've been in this house almost a whole year and I have done 1 out of 3. I dusted the blinds, half-butt. I need a maid.

I do keep my house straightened though. On the weekends. When I'm home. And not tired. Like today - I cleaned the downstairs, but now I'm too tired to finish doing the laundry. Ugh.

Oh, I think the maid's here...

FQF: Not in a stalker kind of way...

Oh I love you Friday. I plan to do as little as possible this weekend. We have a busy weekend ahead of us. Madison has informed us that she would like to go to the zoo, and we plan on getting her haircut (her 1st!!!!), then there is also pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating and church! Maybe I'll get a date night if I'm lucky!

Five Question Friday Time!

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?
Well, I thought long and hard about this one. At first I considered people I know personally: family, friends but that didn't strike a cord. Then I considered famous people - yes celebrities. I would love to be a fly on the wall at a celebrity's house (probably Carrie Underwood or Jennifer Anniston) just to see how they live their lives behind closed doors. I mean are these really real people, or are they always "red carpet ready, hoity toity" people? I'm totally curious, but not in a stalker kind of way. Promise.

2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?
Normally, we do not have a budget. However, this year I think it will be necessary. I think if nothing else, hubs and I at least need to have a budget on how much to spend for each other. He always goes above and beyond for my gifts and then I end up feeling guilty, because I know they cost way too much. So a budget would definitely solve this problem, and save our bank account!

Also, I hate to admit it, but husband may need to give me a budget for Madi's Christmas presents. I have this problem where I feel like everysingletime I go to the store I have to buy her something. I just can't help it! Baby girl stuff is just too darn cute!!

3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?
Actually I have never really been on a crazy diet. The only "diet" I've ever really been on is one I made up myself. It consisted of turkey sandwiches, sugar-free jell-o, lean cuisines, & baked cheetos. Oh, and ice cream! It was a great diet! I know, I know - no veggies. Read my "100 Things" if this baffles you.

4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?
IS there? Ha! Oh yes, you ready?

The Gilmore Girls (every episode, every season, at least two times)
The O.C.
Desperate Housewives
Dexter

I looooove these shows! They are awesome! If you haven't seen these, pleeassee add them to your to-do list asap!

5. What one song always pulls at your heart?
"Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane - I think I've mentioned this song before when I was doing the 30 Day Song Challenge. This song was played at my dad's funeral and it was one of his favorite songs. Everytime I hear it, I think of my dad.

"Mama's Song" by Carrie Underwood - Now that I have a little girl it is very difficult for me to listen to anything mushy about daughters. I just love this song and always tear up because I think of Madi being grown-up and getting married. It makes me sad! (Sad because that means she won't still be living under my roof! But of course I'd be happy for her too!)

FQF: I don't like your toothpaste

Yay for Casual Fridays! I love wearing jeans to work!

It's Five Question Friday time!

1. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Well, the only Halloween candy I can think of is candy corn. I like it, but it's not a favorite. This isn't specific to Halloween but I'm going to go with Reese's Peanut Butter cups! Only because those are always the ones I try to take from kids who trick-or-treat. :)

2. Do you fold your socks?
Sort of. I pair them up and fold them over. I don't like neatly fold them and make them all perfect.

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?
Honestly? Marriage.

Everyone always "ooo's" and "ahh's" when someone says they are engaged, but no one (ahem, mom & dad) ever stops and says "hey marriage is a lot harder than it seems like it would be." Like compromising on the kind of toothpaste I use was something I had to get used to. Now, if I had been prepared for that, maybe things would have been easier. Ha! Okay silly example, but you get it. :)

4. What is the most significant difference between you and your significant other?
The biggest difference is that I wear my emotions on my sleeve and he does not.  For example, I get super excited about going on vacation and he acts all calm and so I think he doesn't want to go. But, really he just has to actually be there before he is excited about it! Small thing, but significant!

The weekend of our engagement (this was the day before).

5. What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Silly, Emotional, & Caring

& for the other part of this question: what three words would my significant other use to describe me?
Shy, Indecisive, & Selfless --he did good, very accurate!

(and just so you know, I picked my 3 before I asked my hubs about his 3!)

FQF: Minivan = Nightmare

Oh, is it Friday? I had no idea. My last day of work this week was Wednesday. :)

1. What do you listen to while driving?

Music, generally. Oh, what kind? Greatly depends on (a) who is in my car with me and (b) my mood. In the mornings it's almost always a local radio station morning show and on the way home from work it's usually a rock station or a Carrie Underwood cd.

2. What is your least favorite thing about Fall?

That it is cold in the mornings, hot as heck in the afternoons, and cold again in the evenings. This makes planning an outfit very difficult!

3. What does your dream house look like, inside and out?

Oh man, I don't even know! I think I'd know once I saw it. A few "have to haves" are a pool in the backyard (and living on the lake would be very much a dream), but still grass/play space; brick house; and a laundry room. Also, a spacious kitchen and high ceilings. :)

4. Would you ever own a minivan?

NO, NO, & NO!!! Okay I just don't get it. There is no need for minivans anymore. It's called an S-U-V people! There are SUVs with 3rd row seating now-a-days so minivans are not necessary!!!

But, if I ever HAD to (meaning do it or die) drive a minivan, it'd have to be the VW Routan. Life would never come to that though. Ever.

I apologize if you drive a minivan, but I just wouldn't do it!!

5. Do you wash new clothes before wearing them?

I do not. And before hubs, I didn't know anyone ever did. Justin will not wear new clothes before washing them. I, on the other hand, feel like it takes away it's "newness" if it's washed before I wear it!

Friday's almost over now, but better late than never! Join in by clicking the button below!

FQF: Scared of the dark

1. Did you have a pen pal when you were little (or now)? Where were/are they from?
I did have pen pals when I was younger! I don't remember who they were or where they were from, but I know we did that in elementary school. I always got so excited when I received a letter from my pen pals.

2. If you could do a different job for one day, what would it be?
I think I'd want to be an actress for a day! It just seems like so much fun and getting pampered wouldn't be all that bad either!

3. Do you remember your biggest fear from when you were little?
When I was little? How about, it's still my biggest fear - the dark! But more specifically, when I was little I was terrified that someone was under my bed. Not like the boogey man or anything, just a "bad man". I would run and jump to get into my bed after turning the lights off. Why is it that being under the covers makes us feel so much safer? I don't know why, but if I was under the covers, I was good.

4. What do you think is a waste of time?
Junk mail. It's a waste of time for those who type up the "you have been pre-approved!" letters and a waste of time for the mailman, and especially a waste of time for me! When I get home the last thing I feel like doing is sorting through mail and ripping junk mail in half to throw it in the trash. Someone just prevent this madness. I don't even open it. I see the "pre-approved!" or "card enclosed!" and rip it half right then. Ridiculous waste of time!

5. What is the oldest item you have in your closet?
Well, I'm sure it's a pair of shoes. Which pair? I'm not sure. I'm going to guess it is my first pair of rainbows. Those shoes are beyond disgusting (I'll spare you the details), but I just can't bear to part with them. (Don't worry, I don't still wear them.) Clothes-wise, I'm sure my oldest item is a hoodie or a really comfy shirt.

No wait! I know! My oldest pair of shoes are not my rainbows, it's my prom shoes from high school! They are super high heel pink strappy things and I will never wear them again, but they are still sitting pretty in my closet...

Well this was short and sweet today. I hope y'all have a fantastic weekend! Hubs and I are going on date night tonight and then tomorrow morning I get to take Madi to a birthday party and then we are plan-free the rest of the weekend. I'm hoping to get together with one of my friends and have a little girl time.

FQF: Pumps Please!

NO. MORE. WORK.

Well, at least for 2 days. That's more than I will be able to say next Friday when I have to work on the weekend. I thought I had an office job for a reason.  Apparently not.  Apart from the weekend ahead, my other favorite thing about Friday is Five Question Friday!

1. What is the first nightmare you remember?
The first nightmare I can remember was set at a blue hotel and this man (I'm assuming?!) kept chasing me around and around the hotel. The reason this is significant and sticks out in my mind is that I've had it like 3 times before. The same dream! Kinda creepy to me.

2. Even if you're not a sports fan, what's your favorite sport to play/watch?
Okay I know gymnastics and ice skating are considered sports, but I'm assuming this question is geared more towards traditional sports like football, baseball, soccer, etc. (I'm pointing this out because I would chose gymnastics...)

I am by no means a sports fan, but this year I've found myself wanting to keep up with the Gamecocks. As y'all know I went to the first game and from what I could tell they are playing really well this year. Now that means pretty much nothing but still.  I think I may watch the game tomorrow...if it's on TV.

3. If you could pull off one piece of trendy fashion, what would you want it to be (jeggings, hats, thigh high boots, etc.)?
This one was easy - pumps. I cannot for the life of me get my feet in those things. I seriously don't understand how y'all do it!!! I bought a pair about 2 years ago determined that if I bought them I'd make myself figure it out. Well, they are sitting in my closet, unworn and now have a friend when I had another epiphany a few months ago. I seriously am in love with these shoes but just can't wear them. Someone please help!!

4. Did you make good grades in school?
Hmm..high school? No, not at all. I totally did not apply myself or care at all. I somehow had a 3.0 at the end of my senior year but that was simply by God's grace. That is the only explanation.

College? Yes. I studied a lot! Still not as much as I should have. I think I could have made all A's if I worked at it but I was happy with my 3.3-3.5 all 4 years!

5. What magazines do you subscribe to?
Currently, none. I am only about 20 coke points away from getting Cosmopolitan for a year! Woot!! I always get my magazine subscriptions through (diet) coke rewards points. Free magazine subscriptions are fabulous! Oh and my mother-in-law usually gives me her People magazines after she reads them so that's always nice too!

FQF: Flintstone push-up please!

Yay! for the weekend! I plan to do absolutely nothing, but we all know that means I'll do quite the opposite!

1. Do you feel guilty spending money on yourself?
Oh my gosh yes. I've been getting a little too comfortable with it but if it's something fairly expensive it takes me a long time to actually enjoy it. I spend more time feeling guilty about buying it and think of all of the things I could have gotten someone else with the money!!

2. How well do you know your neighbors?
Funny you should ask, I actually have been meaning to suggest this question for FQF! I'm curious to see if we are odd, non-social people or if it's common to really not associate with your neighbors. I mean, don't get me wrong I've had the occasional run in with the guy across the street. It goes something like this "Hey, can you stop parking your car on the street?" Really not the most pleasant of conversations. BUT we did finally make friends with our next door neighbors! It's 2 younger guys and they actually go to our church. They are super nice. Getting to know them at least helped my anti-social fear subside a bit.

3. What age are you looking forward to being?
Ummm...?! 100? That's quite a milestone.

4. Do you get excited when the mail comes? Why?
Only if I'm expecting something. Otherwise I let Justin get the mail and 9 times out of 10 it's bills. On the other hand, I love to send people mail. I like brightening someone's day with a simple card or care package.

5. What is your earliest childhood memory?
I really don't remember anything until I was about 4 or 5. I don't remember a particular instance, but just vague memories of spending the summers by the pool and eating those orange Flintstones push-ups. YUM! Do they still make those?!
